Automated Duct Testing no computer required!
The Retrotec Model Q32 Duct Blower comes with a Duct tester blower, a DM-2A fully automatic digital gauge and 12 feet of flex duct with flanges for easy mounting on the return register. The Q32 with the DM-2A guages is fully automatic; select the desired pressure, turn it on and walk away. The DM-2A will automatically adjust speed and measure duct leakage. The high powered DU220 fan has three different flow ranges
The Retrotec Duct Tester creates 600 cfm, which is five times more than the 120 cfm allowable leakage under California Title 24 requirements for a typical five ton air conditioning system.

Operation
The Retrotec Q32 Duct Tester pressurizes or depressurizes an HVAC duct system via the main return grille or blower access opening. Use Retrotec duct mask to seal off the rest of the register openings. Duct pressure is then calculated by static probes in the supply ducts. Airflow is then determined by reading air flow directly from the DM-2. No computer is required. Setup, taping the registers and getting results takes less than 20 minutes in most homes. The Duct-Tester can also be used in conjunction with a blower door to neutralize duct leaks to indoors to that only duct leakage to outdoors is measured. |
